TEMPO TUESDAY

On Tuesdays at 19:00 we go FAST! Sessions vary between Tempo or intervals, taking place either on the track (WLV, Meiereistraße 18) or the famous main avenue (Prater Hauptallee at KM 2 mark) right next to it depending on the session. Come already warmed up with 15-20mins of easy running then ready for some drills and strides.

FRIDAY #breakFAST

Every Friday at 7:00 am (Praterstern, KM 0) we provide a Fartlek session a.k.a “Speed Play”. For everyone, as it’s not solely based on pace but effort! Come already warmed up with 15-20mins of easy running then ready for some drills and strides.

LONG SUNDAY

Sundays we focus on the classic long run, which is definitely half as long if you can run together. 
Here, of course, it is important that our crew are at a similar level to challenge and keep together. We train for similar races so that we can structure the training accordingly. We start at Superfood Deli (Maria-Theresien-Straße 5, 1090).

COMMUNITY SOCIAL RUN

Community Social Runs (CSR) are our way of brining runners together, furthering our motto of achieving more as a unit and making running more inclusive. It’s also a great way to get to know VRC. #ComingTogetherToBuild

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Yes! Everyone is welcome, there is no membership or joining fee required. We hope to keep it that way too! As an ambitious community all we ask for is your dedication, involvement, respect for others, putting in the work and enjoying yourself out there.

  • Our goal is to make fast running more accessible and relatable. This is why we offer different pace groups that are achievable for every ambitious athlete. This means that the speeds will vary depending on the distance. However, from 3:10 to 4:10 min/km range, everything is possible.

  • Yes! The Track has access to lockers and showers, please bring own lock. Please note that if you don’t have membership (WLV Track card) there is a daily use fee of 5€ to be paid at every VRC track session.

  • Every Sunday we meet at Superfood Deli (Maria Theresien Straße 5, 1090 Vienna). Bag drop off is always available unless otherwise announced or starting from a different location. Afterwards you can always treat yourself to a coffee and porridge or just hang around for some chats. Actually we encourage you to do so!

  • No. Just come by, bring a good mood and run with us! Nevertheless, there is the possibility to announce your presence via our Strava Club for that day.

  • We usually run from 20km and above but this varies weekly (see Strava/Instagram for weekly schedule) according to training. We also plan groups which run by minutes (e.g. 80 min). You can also choose between different pace groups, we offer paces from 4:30 to 5:30 min/km. Distance wise, if it's too long then your plan, you can just run a portion of the distance with us. Joining us on route (also shared on Strava). No matter how far, you are always welcome.

    Remember: Long runs always feel less long with company.

  • Your safety at any of our runs and community gatherings is top priority. However, It is every individuals responsibility to take care, be cautious, practice safety first and follow any traffic rules. We also ask that you pay attention along the routes while sharing the paths with other pedestrians and/or cyclists, and cars.
